Replacement of Our Original Greens – Completed
With the completion of our green replacement program and the conversion of all our original greens to modern bentgrass surfaces, we have taken the first step in the 10-year plan. It marks a very important and exciting time in the Club’s history and we can now look forward to enjoying the course in its entirety for many years to come.
The Board of Governors, Course Committee and Management would like to thank all members for their support and understanding throughout this process.
Parking Lot | Entrance | Clubhouse Façade | Exterior Landscaping
This fall we will begin work on the parking lot, entrance way, clubhouse exterior and landscaping. It will address all of our functional and operational needs, while creating whole new sense of arrival when driving into Niakwa. To have this project complete and ready for the 2023 season, we will need to start before the course closes. We will be working closely with the various construction companies to minimize any disruption and ensure members are able to enjoy the club while this takes place.

Clubhouse Interior | Dining Room | Member’s Lounge | Gupta Terrace
We will embark on the first phase of our clubhouse improvements in fall with the leveling and resurfacing of the Gupta Terrace. Following, in winter, we will continue on to the interior of the clubhouse with the renovation of the dining rooms, relocation of the bar and creation of a new member’s lounge. These improvements will dramatically enhance the member experience and make Niakwa a destination of choice.

2023 & BEYOND
There are many other important investments that will be addressed in our 10-year plan. The primary focus through this period will be minimizing member disruption and continuing to fund these needs through our cash from operations, while also reducing our long-term debt by 1 million dollars.
While the above outlines the issues we will address in the future, bunker restoration will be a priority. We believe the new system used on holes 4, 7, 9 and 10 will address our concerns, however, we will need a test period of approximately two seasons to confirm this. Once we have established that this is a long-term solution for the bunkers, this project will be included into the plan and given priority. Until this has been established, Shawn and his team will be doing everything they can to ensure the bunkers are more consistent.
